Chinese SKS 五六式 7.62x39 - "French Tickler"

what size would you guys guess the length of the container is, 20' or 40'? if 40' then my guess there are about 3300 sks in there. wow!!!

If i'm looking at those boxes correctly, the cartons are number ###x of 1000, and at 5 guns to a carton, that looks like 5000 sks's, a nice healthy bump to the numbers in Canada.
This batch looks to be in nice shape as well.

I think you are correct.

I'd be happy to see them near $500 (the cost of sea-can shipping alone will have added a few bucks to each rifle)

There's probably about 20 pallets of SKS on there if it's a 40 footer, with about 130-150 per pallet by the looks of the first couple pallets. Let's take a low estimate of 2600 rifles. A 40' container out of china is about $10k landed right now, making the cost of shipping per rifle about $3.85. So that's why they didn't bother to stuff the container to the roof like you would with bulkier/lower cost items.

Don't let anyone tell you that these rifles - or any product of similar size or smaller - should suddenly cost 20-40% more because they heard on CTV that shipping "is expensive right now"

Shipping a 40' can from rotterdam to here was $6500(ish) in 2020, I was quoted $16,800 in May (with a 3-4 month delay), so yeah, it does matter. $4 each? Sure, sounds legit if the numbers are there (or, more accurately, 17 tons of sks...). But its not only that, I pay more in ei/cpp than i did 2 years ago (both rates and wages go up), shipping costs in country are higher, my lease and vehicle costs are up... Thats what inflation is, more money in the system typically means things go up in price. Not only by the fake CPI, but also the perceived value of dollars worth goods. The reason they should cost 20% more is people are willing to pay 20% more for them. And if they don't, then the dealers will get tired of them on the shelves and will mark them down. Tenda has be selling b-grades for $479, so ir seems thats the market.
Its all demand, SVT has gone up by 4x in the last couple years, Tokarevs have barely moved. So we shall see. But I'd bet one of my G40s that they aren't going for $399...
