too bad you live in ontario. i would love to show you my MINT russian SKS. chinese dont compare.
 
Interesting how they said this is a 90s production. The serial is 23######, which means 1956 + 23 = 1979 production. It is made by factory 26 though, so it's the good stuff. Not sure if the other 2000 of them would look like this.

Looks like even the big box stores will be carrying these from a little website scraping... Though at a higher MSRP than what CGN sponsors will probably be offering. Would love to have the condition of these clarified :)
 
unless they start making threaded barrelled , AK style"D" models ..... I am not gonna fork out over 5bills for a surplus norinco rifle. Not happening.
I'd pay close to T81 prices if they made a new model with the features i'd like to see.... barrel threaded to receiver, threaded muzzle, ak style mag release..... not too much to ask eh? LOL

I would not mind paying extra for being able to walk in to a store, look through some and choose one I like and walk out

Those are my thoughts too -- being able to pick one off the rack is worth the 30$ premium that [Insert Big Box Here] will be selling them for. Even asking for 'hand select' online is a bit of a gamble, esp. when retailers don't provide detailed (or consistent) descriptions.

Are all the Chinese pinned? I thought I read somewhere some years/models came threaded.
 
They come both pinned and threaded. You can tell a pinned barrel from a threaded one by the length of the barrels rear collar coming out of the receiver. Short is pinned. Long is threaded. I'll post a picture tomorrow. The plastic front gas tube cover is not very common. These appear to be factory 26 made. I have a few factory 26 ones and they're good quality. Oh.. and chrome lined barrels. Tenda says threaded.
