Chinese SKS Dating Thread

I don't know myself but someone told me it was the NVA star.North Vietnam Army but that sounds fishy to me.
I believe that is a star with the number 1 in it.....I have seen 3 factory 516 rifles so far and they all had the star on the butt stock....not sure if they were made for some specific military unit as I cannot find anything on the net.

As far as we know, /26\, pre-/26\ and early M21 (No8 & No9) carbines are the only Chinese arsenals documented as Vietnam bringbacks.

13the year is certainly within the Vietnam era, but to date no such star stamped, /516\ guns have been corroborated with documentation.

i got another one can you tell me the date? it is also marked on the bottom is that the date?

21st year, 1976.

I'm not familiar with that stamping on the bottom of the receiver. If i had to guess, maybe that's when the receiver was manufactured.

Cool arsenal stamp. You don't see that one very often. IIRC there are two versions of that arsenal stamp-- also a triangle but with a different numbers font.

thank you for the info. its okay of the only arsenal stamps i can make out for sure.
