I just went and dug it out and mounted the POSP. My description was not accurate.
My poly SDV stock is too long. With the rifle shouldered correctly, the scope is about 4 to 5 inches from my face. I used the supplied SKS to POSP mount, it's just a single bar attached in the same position as yours, but mine doesn't have the plate that lowers the scope attaching point toward the trigger assembly. Mine is mounted higher, near the dust cover.
I suppose if I were to use an adjustable stock with cheek piece, like Tapco?, it might actually work.
The other reason I never used it was because I have the 8x42 POSP which has a rather large objective bell that hangs over the action and I don't have a shell defector.
When I did the work to this SKS CGN wasn't around, late 90's. I think I paid $90 for the SKS so I wasn't too upset about welding to it.
