Boy did I screw up!-bought a rifle with one of those choate tactical varmint stocks sight unseen. Nice gun but the grip behind the trigger guard was meant for a fella with hands like a gorilla!-very uncomfortable. This is some kind of a fibreglass/composite stock so had a brain wave to grab a pneumatic hand grinder and take some "meat" off the pistol grip. All went well till I grinded down about 1/2 an inch and ground right through-now I have a large gaping hole and grip is still too big! Am I screwed or continue grinding to where my hand feels comfortable and try and rebuild with devcon or fibreglass to fill up that hollow portion?-gun is a Remington 700 .243 AI with a 1 inch barrel

The grip is hollow.. you know that now. Make up a plug from wood. Use alot of epoxy to ensure all voids are filled when the plug is installed. Really helps to prep the surface with a good degreaser like aerosol brake cleaner... rough up the surface as much as possible.

Grind away till it fits. Seal with epoxy, fill with bondo or epoxy mixed with microballons, refinish.. DONE.

gonna go grind away-thanks ,my biggest worry was the integrity of the rest of the stock,do not want back end busting off while shooting!
