Chrome Removal?

Just how does one go about removing chrome from steel without chemicals?
I was thinking about sandblasting, but not sure if its enough for hard chrome?

sand blasting might be enough for the chrome, but wont touch the nickel, I would try an emery cloth flap wheel in your drill or better yet die grinder.

A soak in nitric acid will strip it off too, or at leasts that is what we used when I worked in a chrome plant.
