CIL 190 is same as Anschutz ????

Saw this same question either here or on one of the other forums I frequent. Not recently though. Don't recall being able to find any info about it. I think, but wouldn't put any money on it, that Anschutz used the same model number. They are really good rifles one way or the other. Had 6 of 'em when I commanded an Army Cadet Corps long ago. They'd even shoot the cheap IVI ammo we got very well.

Lots of info on Google...There is a CIL Anchutz model 190 and they are priced like a regular Anchutz...expensive. these were imported by CIL.

And I beieve they are bolt action as most target rifles seem to be.

A CIL 190 is a single shot target rifle that was widely used in the Canadian Sporting class (rifle under 4Kg, trigger of at least 1000g, etc). It was built by Anschütz on their Match 64 action.

Anschutz 190

I just got a 190S on trade with sights, and hand stop. The action is 64 and good little gun for three position shootong.
The hand stop requires a special attachment for the sling to hook up, has anyone got one?

190

Hel Al,
I think I have one of those sling attachments.
Yes, great entry level 3-position rifle. The rifle was almost a 64 action type. minute differences, if I recall. Got my first Annie, a 190 back in '69 when they were only $99. Those were the days.!
The only annoyance I had with mine was I kept wearing out triggers. Doing double duty at the time; two of us shooting it. After too many trips to the 'smith, I invested in a 54 action 1408 Match; still have it. :D
Have a Happy Thanksgiving all. :)

Anschutz 190's

I had a 1403 Biathlon for years but got talked out of it by Sandyamac and he only had it a few months and sold it, I liked that little gun. I have a butt hook and a pamplet for a 1403 Biathlon that I received since I had the gun.

I now have a 190 and I think my other gun is a Walther UIT. I will have to get someone to look at the Walther to confirm. I have a Walther Match stock but I am looking for the short trigger guard that fits the stock. The Walther fits the stock but I don't have the short trigger guard. My current stock is the flat type that dosn't taper from the fromt to the bottom of the trigger guard like the spare stock.

I always wanted a 54 Anschutz and another Martini International but I will have one some day. I can wait.
I didn't know how to prenounce Anschutz until I got help from 45Auto. I was adding an L between the "u" and the "t". Thanks Volker.

Our cadet Anshutz rifles looked similar to the 1403/1407, but the forestock didn't taper - it looked almost identical to that CIL-190S, although they were fitted with a handstop and I think some had provisions for slings. Might just be a configuration Anschutz no longer offers though, I think our rifles dated back to early 80's

Not sure where I seen this that the 190 is similar to the 1403 and 1903

I'm not a fan of the 64 action. Give me a 54 any day.

My biggest complaint of the 64 is the shoddy and flimsy bolt design. They are accurate guns though.

For a Club gun the 64 action is ok. The kids here use the CIL 190 in the Junior Rifle club and for Hunter safety training.

Myself I'd rather save up for a Winchester 52 or an Annie 54.

And let me put it this way. I'd rather take my Brno #1 hunting then my CIL 310 ;)

.

See AL, you should have brought the rifle to some of our PSC matches and beat Sandymac with it. He probably would have kept it. ....maybe ;) I wonder if Sandy is around to read this.??

JC Brno, Nice pic of your 64 on the plains. I agree w. CZ Brno; the 64's are fine at the club level. Now having said all that, I hear the MPR model is doing well for BR type shoots. But I still prefer the 54's If you want to become more competitive, get a 54 action.

Cheers:wave:
