City-ots!

Gotta say I was having a ####ty day till this thread came along.

I think I am going to claim my God given right to de-flower all virgins within the 4000 acre area surronding my home.

Just, nobody tell my wife.

.....time to get a new hunting rig!

LMAO.....that would be awesome! But a forwarder would work better. You could neatly stack all said vehicles in an orderly wind row. In an undisclosed location

until youve had an animal shot 20 yds from you!! from a hunter that was unknown to you and you to him both wearing orange but could not see each other..you dont know what a close call is!! that is the reason for my opinion on people who decide to hunt where ever they please enough said

While I am at it...why does a city person even NEED a gun?

Oh yea...cause this is NOT Nazi Germany and any PUBLIC land is just as much ours as it is yours...

Which I believe is the point the OP was trying to make. Blocking off a road so none else can get back to hunt or otherwise use the area is NOT sharing. How would you like someone to park across the boat launch or block off your street?

Ya good point, crazy people expecting to be able to hunt whatever public land they choose.

Just remember though, on your wedding night, your bride is mine!!!

So how would a hunter go about getting permission to hunt on this crown land that you have claimed as your own? Contact you? Maybe you have a waiting list and permission slips just so everything is on the up and up :D

ive been hunting the same crown land my grandfather hunted 50 yrs ago ! it is a rather large area somewhere in the area of 4000 acres my family has hunted this bush every year regardless of the number of moose or deer some years we would chase one animal all week our problem starts when the numbers of animals are high ! people driving roads bird hunting start seeing moose or deer and find out that it its all crown land think they have the right to start hunting there i beg to differ for 2 important reasons ETHICS and SAFETY my party knows where each other are at all times now you throw another ten guys in close proximiy who have no idea of the bush they are in and the fact that they dont know we are there nor do we know they are there it makes for some scary incedents . im a fortunate person to have this area to hunt but we stay there good years and bad years all you people who jump around to wherever the game numbers are high and set up camp not knowing or caring if anybody else hunts there can go screw yourselves.!!!

Oh, the irony! To read this post in a thread called City-ots.

Maybe hs grandfather has been there 51 years and you are hunting HIS crown land.

This is the hunting forum... right... so just wtf are you talking about.... ..... but anyways.... I just got back from up north. I put up with all the other people... be it hunting, 4 wheeling, whatever, Its everybodys land to use.... but I really cannot believe the amount of crap people leave behind, I clean up what I can, but there always seems to be more...

Did you READ the post i quoted...I was sayhing people get pissed that there "is too many hunters" when/where they are trying to hunt

It's all relative.
Wife and I just got back from a 2 wk moose hunt hundreds of miles further away from a city than many of you have ever been. As we like to hunt on foot we have been slowly forced to go further and further afield. This year we tried a new to us area as our old area now looks like Ft. Mac WSW, complete with all the alchy's from the, "dry" camps hiding to drink and leaving their bottle's scattered. But I digress.

This year we literally reached the end of the road, and I mean logging road as in if you don't have a 4x4 with real tires and chains you have no business being there and are unlikely to get out without help.

Between the natives road/quad hunting HARD, and outfitters having a bear bait on Every Single cutline about as far in as you can drive a quad, (right ON the cutline, not off to the side) despite at least 30% of them looking like they've never actually seen bait.................but that, "lays claim" to the crown land cutline I guess. But I digress....

Point being there's just too damn many people here now.
If you figure one in 20 is a dink, and one in 30 is a complete a$$hole the closer you get to a city the numbers increase, it's easy math.

THAT being said, I've now come to the conclusion the only way we can hunt moose on foot and in peace in N. AB now is to buy an argo and a wall tent so we can get in further than the native and outfitter mechanized hunters but not quite so far as the fly in outfitters............then we can hunt on foot. Last disgression.....

Just too damn many people, period.

In conclusion if you found the most remote place on earth the first rock you picked up would have a coke can under it and when you turned around some idiot would be asking you directions or beaking off about some crap that would richly deserve a pop in the nose.

Sorry guys, welcome to 2011. :(

I know a young fellow around here who did that one time. Thought he would block access to a road so he could grouse hunt without anyone else using the road. When he showed up at the gun club with a hole in the side of his brand new Tacoma I asked what happened to his new truck and he related the story of blocking the road and how he had ended up with a 20 ga slug in the side of his new truck!!

I am going to keep this brief because the longer I think about it the crosser I get.

Second area - we get greeted by the sight of 2 half tons parked side by side blocking the effing road with maybe 3-4 kms of road to go with crown land on all side

What.would.you.have.done?

There's a longer post than this one on the OTHER FORUM , telling why they needed to block the roads to you people because --------- " there are more than one reasons "

what pisses me off.... people blocking roads.

I used to work as a forester and hunting season always interesting, people telling me that I can't go somewhere because they were hunting there... Too Bad I'm working fine If I had someplace else that I had to go and they ask nice to start with, don't tell me where I can't go. Not going into the woods is costing me money/time/wages, fine if they would pay me but I didn't work for cheap.
