I am looking to get into cap and ball revolvers. I have shot one once in my life, but other than that I am pretty clueless on how to get into this type of shooting. All I know is that it was a whole lot more complicated than just putting the cartridge in the chamber and pulling the trigger.
What has caught my eye is the Colt 1851 Navy revolver in .44. What is the cost of shooting this revolver after factoring in the ball, powder, percussion cap and patch & lube?
If you have any suggestions on what you would consider a better civil war era revolver, please let me know. Thanks for the help.
