As for cleaning, I just remover the cylinder of my Remington, remove the wood grip panels, wash everything in hot soapy water (dish soap), scrub, rince under the tap with hot water (dish gloves are nice!) and then wipe the revolver as much as possible before putting it in the oven at the lowest possible temperature until it gets hot and dry! Then I remove it, spray some wd40 on it while still hot (do that outside the house!) let it cool down and then apply CLP... put back the panels and your gun is like new...
