Well the WSMs and the .375 Ruger have done quite well in the last 10 years or so. I see many on these forums expounding the virtues of the .300 wsm and, oddly enough, there are some who tout a dethroning of sorts when referring to a certain medium bore cartridge.
I will be carrying a 7mm Rem Mag and a .338 Win Mag in the field this year - hardly classics, but certainly not "new and improved" either.
Do any of you plan on introducing Mr. Swamp Donkey to Holland's Super .30? Perhaps a whiley old White-tail buck will meet its match via skilled hunter and .250-3000 Savage (which was a favorite of mine until I mistakenly sold my T/D 1899 that was chambered in that fine old round). And how neat would it be to walk through the alpines toting a handy Mannlicher-Schoenauer M1903 Carbine in 6.5x54 MS? A pre-War M70 in just about any chambering would make a fine companion on a Mulie hunt in the Rockies.
So, which fine old rifles, or new ones, chambered in the classic cartridges will be heading to the hunting grounds this year? Stories, as well as pictures, from past adventures will also be much appreciated!
