Chamber brush is for the army. I don't see the point of using such aggressive tool with recreational useage.

Wow, there's an awful lot of confusing information in this thread. What are you using your rifle for? What's wrong with just wadding some scrap cloth around the end of an old toothbrush, spraying it with CLP and gently scrubbing the chamber? Power drills and metal brushes sound like serious overkill to me...
What parts of the gas system can and should be cleaned? Does the interior of the tube need any maintenance? How about where it meets up with the bolt carrier?
