Club Closures due to Covid-19

in south western ontario and shot sporting clay at Twin Creeks Sunday ,, pass your money in the window into a pail, keep your distance , some wearing latex gloves , Great shoot ,,nice course, Thanks to Twin creeks for trying to keep open. They shoot Friday morning and Sunday.

So I guess shooting clays is more important than the health of the club members and your family. Look at what was happening in Europe and look at the fine mess they are into. This is extremely serous and should not be taken lightly. Clubs should look at the liability that they leave themselves open too if one of their member contracts CV19. The province is in a state of emergency for a reason. Limit your exposure to other people and stay safe. Shooting isn't the important.

the province is declared a state of emergency, to cash in on any fed money available . This is serious , and I don't take it lightly. However if fifteen shooter spread over 300 acres is dangerous then we are all in deep trouble. I was in a more crowed area in a store just yesterday. Everyone kept their distance, staff cleaning constantly. In my humble opinion the risk there was very small, and likely much less then daily life.

Our range is closed till further notice so I'm spending my time reloading in peace. I'm OK with the range being closed so the good folks inside the shop can stay safe.

In other news, in my area, the 24 hrs a day Loblaw's has decided to reduce its hours to 8am - 8Pm and limit the number of shoppers inside to keep everyone safe. They have also installed a little barrier set-up outside with a sign that reads "form line here" so people can huddle together in a crowd. What a bunch of Covidiots ..... (I felt a lot safer when I could go in at 5am on my way to work and see only about 3 others inside)

I got an email last night that was forwarded to me from the president of our cub, stating thee medicine hat club has closed for now and suspended their monthly meetings.
Our outdoor ranges are still open in Fort McMurray but ii am not going to use to the indoor range.

Re: COVID – 19 Virus

The Sportsmen’s Club Galt will be CLOSED as of midnight 24th March 2020. This measure is in support of the Ontario Governments Declaration of Emergency and closure of Non-essential businesses. This closure will be in force until further notice.

· All Indoor and Outdoor ranges are CLOSED.

· Further updates will be posted on our webpage

As all non-essential businesses in Ontario are being closed by the provincial government, Silverdale (may be the last still open, e-mail from them) and (my guess) all stores will be closed from mid-night tonight …

Our shooting is outdoor. Don't see any reason to shut down. Folks can decide if they want to go to the range.
I’m at eosc in Ottawa and they closed today . The range is outdoor and in the two years I been a member , u almost never see members come within say 100 feet of each other unless they came in a group or there’s a shooting event . So much for social distancing and being outdoors

Nova Scotia you cannot be in a group of 5 or more during this state of emergency. I asked even if it's just me. Being that the range cannot control the numbers of members that show up. Plus business could face up to 7500$ fine, 1000$ for individual. They shut down the outdoor range.

Silverdale is CLOSED!

As a non essential business according to our government we are forced to close until further notice. The predicted time is two to four weeks.

Here are a few thoughts I would like to pass on to the members. Did you know that 50% and increasing pass the virus through your social community. When the virus first arrived it was from people entering the country, but that has changed quickly. Stay home and out of the public to protect your family at home.
The virus can live on inanimate objects 3 to 12 hours, depending on the temperatures. If you are going out, clean every surface you touch, including your hands frequently. Avoid touching your face. Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 2 minutes.

We may not have a place to practice, have fun or sight in our guns for now, but we can take pride in knowing, preppers, hunters and fellow sport shooters are prepared.
Be safe until we can all meet again at the Range.

This is the email that was sent today to all Silverdale members
