CMMG Mk47 announced

Is this DI or piston. DI is great for non-corrosive, but I wouldn't use corrosive in a DI gun. If there is a semi-auto that takes AK mags AND uses a piston, I would be all over that.
Does such a beast exist??

The only semi auto I know of that takes AK mags and uses a piston is the AK :).

In all seriousness, I think the SKS D fits ur requirements

Ok
Explain me something,
If this become Restricted and for $2000
I RATHER buy a 308 than a 7.62x39

Or am i wrong

And guys don t tell me cheap ammo

Good point. Of course I reload .308 and have no desire to do so with x39

I'm either going for the NEA upper or an 858 I think. I'll look at an AR10 someday

Yes, rock river makes an AR in 7.62x39 that uses a k mags.
Haven't seen one up close, but my rock river lefty is well made and well priced

Colt made a DI gun for the Qatar contract, so it is not a problem. The gas tube is stainless steel anyways. If you worry, replace the gas tube once awhile.

Look, if you don't worry about the gas port in the gas block, why would you worry about the gas tube???

yeah, it's called an AK.

Haha, very funny. Maybe once I travel back in time to get a prohib licence.

Fair point, but from my experience with the VZ-58, the gas port is quicker to clean out than a gas tube.

This rifle does have my interest.

In case anyone is interested, the rifle takes DPMS .308 pattern hand guards with a .150 tang. Thread pitch on the muzzle device is 5/8-24. Stock is Milspec. I got all that information directly from CMMG. I was also informed that the charging handle is a proprietary design but the latches can be switched out. I'm not too sure what this means specifically, but I think it means that our current favourite charging handles can't be dropped in.
