Gave a deer to a fella up north and he asked me if I had ever tried tea marinade.......He fills his hot water kettle, boils the water, then pours it into a roast pan. Fills the kettle again, boils it, and pours that into the roast pan. Then he adds 8 black tea bags and lets it sit.

Then he puts his roast or steaks into it.

He soaks the moose or deer roast or steaks in black tea marinade for a day.

Cook it in the marinade in a roast pan at 350 degrees for an hour and a half.

It kinda gives the meat a smoky type flavour ..... it was good. Especially topped with cranberry sauce and a little shot of garlic salt.

It was a new one on me.

wow that brings back a memory..i remember years ago(a least 40 of them)that my father use to use the same for his steak marinade..
there was always a pot of tea on the stove..he always like to use a tea that was steeped for a few days..

Thanks Randy, we're big on the marinades. We'll have to try that one for sure. Cooking will be in the Barby though....:)
