Cold weather cracking

Hmmm... never run into that. Laminates are easy to refinish though... sand.it down and Tru Oil it with three or four coats.

It was a pain to strip but after 5 coats of antique oil over 5 days it is better then new. Or at least better then it was. Minwax antique oil I’m convinced is the same as Truoil without the fish smell. Much cheaper also.

Thanks guys, I’m happy how it turned out. After the third application of stripper and scraping I was wondering if I’d bit off more then I could chew. Patience prevailed as usual.

How did you get it out of the checkering? Stiff nylon brush?

Looks great nice work

The original laminate stock was checkered after it was finished so there was no finish to be removed in the checkering. Made it easier.
Otherwise soaking in stripper and a wire/nylon brush would have had to been used.
