Colt 1911 gold cup or GSG 1911?

I hear someone is selling adjustable rear sights and a neon front sight for the GSG. Anyone know who that is?

GSG 1911 the way to go! cheaper price, and a fantastic replic! I put CCI Minimag in it and I never have a fail!

GSG 1911 is great, the finish on the slide can wear a little too easy. That is my only complaint though. It's a fun gun and most people who see it at the range don't think it's a .22 until I tell them.

The Colt copies made by Walther are great. I have not had hickups.

I think the GSG copies have magazine disconnects. Which turns me way off.

Takes about 2 seconds to remove the mag safety in the GSG.

There is also the overpriced Browning mini 1911 out there...for the ts.
GSG is probably the best bet though.

It's very straightforward though the ability to detail strip a 1911 would be an asset. If you do know how to do this, when you remove the mainspring housing, just remove the spring and little piece on the side of the mainspring housing. It should just fall off, it's not really attached in any way.

If this doesn't make sense to you, there are a few YouTube vids but basically you can keep the pistol assembled but use a punch to push out the pin at the rear bottom of the grip. Once you do this, slide down the mainspring housing (which is the backstrap of the grip) then remove the little spring and piece that are on the left side of the MSH if I recall correctly. Really simple so far but the slightly trickier part is reinstalling. When you push the MSH back into the grip, you want to make sure that the hammer strut is centered so that it fits into the centre top of the MSH (where the mainspring is) and also make sure that the grip safety is pressed down so it does not swing back freely.

Actually.. or just this...

About 4 minutes in, he'll do the procedure I tried to explain above then point out the parts I'm referring to.

yep I've done this mode too. 2 minutes and it was my first time..

- have a beer near you to make sure you have all the nessairy tools. oh, and a flat screw driver or a 10cents piece lol.
- remove grips (2 screws on each side).
- take 2 sips of beer.
- punch the little pin off on the corner (in the bottom of the handle).
- and then slide off the mainspring housing, remove the very little spring and metal piece that fall out anyway lol.
- dont forget drinking because you dont want a warm beer.
- finally reassembly everything.
- finish your beer and make a big smile because YOU DID IT!!!

very easy process

Thanks guys, I am familiar with 1911 45 takedown, so I should be able to handle this. I was not aware that the GSG was so 45 like, so to speak

Yeah, that's the obnoxious part of ''Colt'' .22LR clones. The 1911's and the M4's do not break down exactly like the guns they are cloning. I was surprised to see the barrel is bolted onto the frame of the .22 pistols.
