CC is in a place now where they have to decide if it's worth doing overruns on regular contracts (this is still their bread and butter), and then selling through their distributor to civilians. Neither the SA20/SA15.7 sold out yet, and there were distributor issues. The IUR is also still available in reasonable quantities, but I don't know if anyone knows how many entered the distribution chain. How much money do you think they've made from selling all of these rifles? For the sake of argument, let's say that they (CC) makes 250$ from each rifle sold through the civvie channel, and that they've sold 1000 rifles. They've made 250,000$. That's not actually a lot of money... and they didn't make it all within the same calendar year. The overhead for a rep to deal with warranty issues, CGN forum following, dealing with distributor(s), etc also takes away from whatever profits they've made.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that this is some political decision, all decisions by businesses are business decisions - even if they're wrong, shortsighted or foolish.
