Colt Canada Information Thread

Does BCM make clones of the C8SFW 4-slot triad? I saw one in the product photos listed on their website, but there was no option when ordering.

I wouldn't sweat the 4-slot vs 5-slot issue. I've seen lots of relatively current DND images where the 5-slot Triad is being fielded on (Army) C8a3s. Event the most current Colt Canada pictures (on the website) depicting the C8 with a Triad show them with the 5-slot unit affixed.

They do have the same buffer (HH). But according to the specs on the IUR, it is designed to use an HHH buffer.

Probably won't make a difference though. I've run my IUR with an HH buffer and it works fine.
 
That's weird. H3 were designed for the 10.3" Mk18 uppers. You are suppose to use one when the gas port is eroded but the barrel still groups. How does barrel length effect it? The rifle in the PDF is the 14.5". It might be do to Colt Canada gas tube design. It might change the pressure curve. The only reason you use a heavy buffer is for full auto. It prevents bolt carrier bounce and light primer strikes. I have a bunch of H3, might try one in the IUR. It ran just fine with a H2.
