Colt Canada IUR 15.7 PREMIUM CARBINE

I ordered this from Al's as well. Thinking about getting the Elcan Specter DR and a Geissele trigger for it also.

so what would be a better purchase, a sa15.7 or the IUR.

new to the AR game and from what it seems, the Colts are one of the best on the market.
They are both pretty cool. I bought the IUR as my first AR, love it but it's heavy and the quad rail is completely wasted on me and probably most people who bought it and can't be changed obviously. I would buy the SA15.7 if I could do it again and it was between those two I think.
Might be a good idea to look at other options as well, there's just so many to choose from and they might be more to your liking.

Yeah the rail heavy, pretty wasted on me too. Considering I added more weight with KAC railcovers.

But it was also my first complete AR, I am thrilled with it. Added a Geissele hi-speed national match trigger and a raptor charging handle (WAY better than CF one). The thing is accurate with a eotech out to 300 yards hitting a 12" gong on front sand bag. The trigger really made a huge difference. I can't get enough of the lar-15 magazines either, really wish 30/30 rounders were legal........

Just got my Colt Canada (Diemaco) IUR from Al Flaherty's.
Perfect in every way. All Colt Canada components and Diemaco Operating Manual. Its registered as a COLT Canada IUR, not components like the other one.
Like the trigger as is. I have replaced the trigger on two previous rifles, but don't think I need it on this one, for the shooting I'll be doing.
Very crisp trigger, breaks like a glass rod.

Zeroed the Eotech and BUIS yesterday with PMC 62 Grain Green Tips. Too windy for any real accuracy test, but so far, I'm pretty happy!

Later I'll probably put a scope on it and test it with some target ammo but for now I'm really enjoying shooting with the Eotech and the Green Tips.

Does it serious say Colt Canada on your Regi? Mine only says COLT IUR.

I was wondering how many of you guys run PMAGS in your IUR? If you do, how drop free are they? I had to file down the spine on 3 30 rnd PMAG gen M2, to make them drop free. And even now they won't drop free if the rifle is held at an angle.

My registration says Colt IUR as well. I'm using c-products steel 5/30 mags, they drop out freely and i haven't had any feeding issues through 500 rounds.

My mistake. It says "Colt IUR" on the transfer. Not Colt Canada.
Have not received the registration yet.
No problem with the PMag I used yesterday. It seats easier when loaded into the rifle with the action locked back and seems to drop easily.
