the $1000 colt was a walmart special and they ordered 60,000 units to get that price....i am sure if one of you wants to step up and order 60,000 rifles colt canada would give you a deal.

Bingo,

I'm at a loss for words for most of this thread.

Buy or don't buy but a few weeks ago these guns where unobtainable. So how do you price desire?

It has a better barrel than anything but Hk, mainly as CC rarely does CR32 steel in carbine barrels. (And Hk doesn't on their commercial guns).

Colt Canada is not hurting for customers, so they don't need to blow guns out at a bottom dollar.
If a distributor came in with a high 5 figure order the price would drop.

I know LAV's not getting guns for this. He already has some non commercial Diemaco/CC guns.

Is CR32 steel mainly from France ? Where Diemacco use to get it?

Thanks to Kevin B for actually stating some sales points on why to get it!

I think I'm going to wait and see what other models come out (C7 with green furniture?) but I will purchase something from Colt Canada fo' sho'.

Are the specs on the site correct, it says the 20'' rifle has a heavy barrel and not the gov't profile. Has anyone seen these?

• Full rifle length cold hammer-forged heavy barrel
• Flash suppressor
• Bayonet lug
• Rifle chamber and gas system
• Integrated sight rail (Picatinny MIL-STD-1913)
• Ambidextrous selector
• Double sided sling loop
• Colt /Troy backup sight
• 6 position collapsing buttstock with non-slip rubber butt pad

Either way you look at it I'm going to say that a large Canadian firearms company arming the public is a good thing.

$2100 for a C7A2 is a bit rich for my blood for what is - a bare bones AR15. No matter how good the parts or assembly, or how much I'd love to hand it to family and friends and say "This is what I carried" I just can't justify that price tag to myself.

But if they come out with those L119A2s or even accessories like those pronged flash hiders, I don't think I could throw my money at my computer screen fast enough, regardless of what they want for it. They look sweet as hell.

In any case I hope they sell, and that the company that makes The Canadian military rifle, and supplies carbines to special forces across europe is now selling to civilians makes me very happy.

In a month when the limited run of these models are all gone they will be on the EE for $500 more...you know it's true. I kept one of each for myself.

This thread is pure gold, lol.

Guys saying they should just buy a KAC, and your an idiot if you buy a Diemaco. Then a liaison for KAC rolls along and says your a complete idiot for not buying a Diemaco.

Shut down!

Pretty simple really.. Don't want to pay 2k? Get your norinco.... Want something unobtainium until now? Pay more... Wait few years and prices may drop...

They will have plenty of buyers at 2k. When they run out maybe you can get one on sale.

Now all the experts will come out and spout CR 32 Steel is awesome and the best ever. Only Colt uses it. Never heard of it.

Has anyone here shot out a barrel? Personal use on the range....who here has shot out any barrel. I bet no one.

So the barrel is a $1000 barrel then?

I am sorry you agreed with that. You know it's a Fact. COLT is Available at many retailers for Less than $1000. Another 'Industry' guy defending it.

Before this bad boy gets the noose it so clearly deserves, an answer to a question - what makes these different from other ($1000) Colts? Check out the forge marks, uppers and lowers. Colt (US) doesn't make complete rifles (as was alleged earlier), Colt Canada does.

Incidentally, what's the most important thing to know? Which people know the things you don't.

from reports they will not be releasing the green furniture to the public, something todo with DND not allowing it due to canadian forces copyright or something similar.

What's supposed to be limited about them? Wen on the CC page they say they look forward to having these at ranges across Canada and that more models are to come?

This thread should keep going.

It stands as testamate of why the firearms act is still on going... For F@cks Sake! It's a Canadian made product and no one will stand by it. What is wrong with people? Where is the Canadian pride that I grew up with?

The original Diemaco company has been purchasesed as a subsidiary of Colt. Not emagilated into one corporate entity.

What does national pride have to do with purchasing a firearm? The cc offerings are priced significantly higher than other known brands which makes them a non starter for many.

Ahhh... Does it change you mind when you purchases anything non-firearm related?

"look at this armoire, honey. Solid oak made in Canada"

"that's too much money dear. Let's go for the pressboard one made in China"

The concept of "flow" is absent with some I suppose.
