Colt Canada's Next Generation Bullpup Prototype

If you think this is a waste, it's small potatoes compared to other things...The problem seems to be those who make the decisions have no idea of how the technology works and how it can be practically applied.

As someone who will have to carry this thing around some day... Please no! General infantry combat rifles don't need computers and batteries. And they don't need to weigh as much as a GPMG. They just need to shoot reliably.

DOES IT HAVE A CHROME-LINED BARREL?

This thing reminds me of the car that Homer Simpson designed for his brother.

Why is CC working on something like this right now? Isn't this the kind of thing that we let the U.S. come up with and we then adopt and manufacture under licence? It would also seem that doing away with the 5.56 in favor of a potential replacement for NATO isn't even on the radar.

This unit will never happen, but rest assured the pi$$ing up against the wall of a bunch of our money is already a done deal.

No one needs 40mm on a personal rifle, outdated idea. For all that weight and give an infantry section a Carl Gustav with 10 rounds of appropriate to the mission type and it will solve any problem a 10 men with 40 mm mounted on rifles will never handle.

Stop with your common sense.

Why not just punch ourselves in the balls until we're sterile? I mean if we're jumping onto bandwagons of stupid...

Best god damn AR15 in service anywhere and the brass wants to try dicking around with modular bullpups.

The IDF sure doesn't think the Tavor is stupid, a rifle that works is kind of a big deal there. Rifle works = hammas will not chop my head off today, seems like a big deal to me.

Small armies like ours would be wise to follow what large armies are doing so they don't get left behind.

Small armies that try to run programs that were to expensive for the largest militaries in the world need to start firing senior people.

Quoted for truth. Unfortunately, that's not the Canadian way of running things.
