hmm my birthday is in May and these might be out in June... I wonder if Wolverine sells gift certificates or will have a preorder :D

I pre-ordered the day I saw it. Yes you can pre-order. They add you to the list and contact you. First paid first get, and down the line they go.

no but maybe someone will make a mp5 stock for the 10/22............(hoping someday)

Picked up a Rhineland R22 from another CGN'er as a backup for the Umarex if it doesn't materialize. Paid about the same price for it as well. So I am covered either way for a Evil Looking Ban-O-Matic .22 Squirrel Killer.

you pre-order it? called wolverine today and they just put you one a list so when they get them they email you and they don't know for sure if its non-restricted. That is why they are not taking payments at this time.

Based on the current political climate and the bad behavior of certain federal agencies literally making up new law as they go, I am not holding my breath on these. I'm not a pessimist however I am a realist. This item is too scary for the Wendy's and Socialists of the land so regardless of whether or not it functions exactly like an AR and shoots .22 ammo the GPNS (Granny Panty Nanny State) will be scared of it and again law will be magically invented or bent to prevent their import at a non-restricted. If I want a restricted .22 AR I'll build one not buy it from an airsoft manufacturer.

We can speculate all we want and this entire thread is exactly that. With the T97 issue now in our rear view mirrors we already know how badly behaved our government agencies can be so we can predict how things "might" go a lot better now and things will probably unfold a lot faster than before. It won't be 18-24 months along this time and I am sure importers, dealers, and retailers have learned their lessons from what has happened with the T97 in order to prevent customer nightmares. (ie. Wolverine not taking money from anyone; smart move). We'll probably know in 4-8 weeks.

And I'll be out at the range plinking with my R22 long before that; until they ban that too without an Order in Council.

Umarex based in Germany is the distributor for Canada. Not Colt out of the USA. So all questions will need to be directed there.

From Wolverine:

The shipment is due in this summer, however we do not have a confirmed delivery date yet. Cost will be around the $800 mark. As there has been no FRT number issued for it we will not have confirmation on it legal classification.

When you see the manual it's like AR, 99% sure it's restricted, I can't understand why GS5 is prohibed and Colt M4 no restricted.

Blueline is still fighting for the GSG. I pray they are successful. If it is the Ruger 10/22 is getting sold.

I don't understand this idea of "fighting it": if the entire situation is just one big misunderstanding and the GSG isn't a variant, what's the problem? It will be reclassified: it's just a matter of time... but that's assuming the RCMP don't play dirty and actually care to follow their own laws.

The RCMP has already classified it as prohibited and they're under no legal obligation to take another look at it. The situation isn't a misunderstanding, it's a case of the RCMP bull****ting their way into banning another scary looking semi-automatic assault weapon. They know full and well that it isn't an MP5 variant, but it was marketed by the distributor as such and that's all the reason the RCMP needed.
