The average quality of the low to mid tier AR15's....stuff under $1000 has really come a long way. There isn't that huge quality gap that we use to see between those guys and the Colt offerings anymore. Pretty much everything is made in spec and to spec using the correct materials. For Colt to command a premium and widen that profit margin again, while still maintaining high sales, they are going to have to do something to separate themselves from the pack.
