OH MY;
I am beginning to regret this already....
Everyone has more information about them than I do....
I will try to answer this clearly;
1) Italy is in Europe not in the far East as some think....
2) These are 10000000000000000% new guns not "so they are building new receivers and putting the original rifles on the new receivers....?" as posted above.
3) "Perhaps they will simply have some European company do the final assembly and avoid us the need to re-index barrels." PLEASE READ OUR POSTS....
4) SHOOTEMUP seems to get the picture.... Why can't others ??
5) "Made in Italy, could this be a copy of the Beretta BM-59. ??? "
OK let me type M O R E S L O W L Y S O I T C A N B E R E A D the two models are M-14s dammit, NOT any other model....
JOHN
John,
Speculation is the name of the beast here....next thing you know, someone's going to start tossing prices around and people will start complaining that the fanciful price for a rifle of unknown manufacture from Europe is too high, and there's no way that they'd pay that kind of money for it....
And then someone's going to complain about the lack of a bayonet lug, and the welded on flash suppressor (though it took me an average of 2 minutes each to get them off at the M-14 Clinic in Hfx this weekend....8 rifles in a row)
And then someone's going to ask for them in 7.62x39mm...
And that'll lead to someone asking for an M-14 that takes AK mags so it will properly feed the non-existant 7.62x39mm M-14....
And on and on it will go.
Speculation will trump the facts. And everyone will complain. As usual.
