compact bolt actions with a full length of pull?

I'm considering a Tikka compact in .308 it comes with shorter barrel and shorter length of pull. A 1 inch stock spacer is included.

Browning X-Bolt and X-Bolt 2 Speed "SPR". Comes with 18" bbl. My son bought the original version in .308 and it shoots sub moa with 165gr. Pricey but he was looking for "one and done" for ON hunting. The 2 version has adjustable LOP and cheek risers.

The plain X Bolt 2 micro versions come with 20 inch bbls and adjustable stocks as well.

The xbolt micro miads is a great rifle. My old lady has one chambered in 270wsm. The only problem with that is that the length of pull is only 12.5". Which he was looking for a regular length of pull. The speed SPR would be a great option. The micro Midas is the only xbolt we have. Its an extremely nice shooting rifle.

Its my old lady's elk and moose rifle, I load it with 180 grain woodleighs at 2850fps. Drops anything in North America. The recoild pads on them are second to none.

I bought a T3x stainless 7-08 and had the barrel cut to 19” It’s the perfect combination.

For most of my shots I'm sitting on a stump or in a canoe, so I prefer a 12.5" lop. My 300wsm is cut to 19" as well, 38.5" oal. Go's and fits anywhere, but still a 400yrd point and shoot moose gun. 12"lop on my 308 16 barrel 36" oal, just so dam handy.

I had one of those for a number of years. Accurate and nice for the bush. I sold it because I hated the internal box magazine, but in hindsight I should have just looked for a stock replacement
The new model Savage Hog Hunter comes with a removable magazine. It's the Gen 2 model.

Yours will be a Gen 1 model, with the internal magazine.

If you don't want a 16 inch barrel, just cut down whatever rifle you like...

CZ 527 is probably the best "compact" action in terms of every part of it (but the bolt handle and stock) being sized down. If I understand correctly from recent discourse the 223 is the new 300 WM, I imagine the 7.62x39 models would make good elephant guns

If you want a sized down action as well as barrel, in an intermediate cartridge, model 7 or kimber

Remington Model Seven, very handy and handsome rifle and full LOP
Funny, I've had quite a few 700's, but hated the one Model Seven I owned, couldn't get rid of it fast enough and it did shoot really well. It somehow felt too small in every dimension of the stock. IDK...?

I’m late to responses here, but you should look at rear locking lug actions, and short actions.

My hunting rigs are a Steyr Model M and a Remington 788 for the above reason…

The 788 I built a custom trigger guard and replaced the trigger piece inside the mechanism, with one that extended it 30mm forward (so as to push the action rearward 30mm) for this reason.

It’s basically super compact compared to conventional rifles and we should consider barrel & action length in comparison to OAL whereas a rear locking lug action has less distance in front of mag for locking portion.
