x bolt 2 micro might just be what i am after. ThanksBrowning X-Bolt and X-Bolt 2 Speed "SPR". Comes with 18" bbl. My son bought the original version in .308 and it shoots sub moa with 165gr. Pricey but he was looking for "one and done" for ON hunting. The 2 version has adjustable LOP and cheek risers.

The xbolt micro miads is a great rifle. My old lady has one chambered in 270wsm. The only problem with that is that the length of pull is only 12.5". Which he was looking for a regular length of pull. The speed SPR would be a great option. The micro Midas is the only xbolt we have. I bought a T3x stainless 7-08 and had the barrel cut to 19” It’s the perfect combination.
The new model Savage Hog Hunter comes with a removable magazine. It's the Gen 2 model.I had one of those for a number of years. Accurate and nice for the bush. I sold it because I hated the internal box magazine, but in hindsight I should have just looked for a stock replacement
Good point, I forgot that the length of pull on my guide gun was adjustable.Ruger Guide Gun or Alaskan both come with 20" barrels and full size stocks.
Is that the only difference between the two generations? The new model Savage Hog Hunter comes with a removable magazine. It's the Gen 2 model.
Yours will be a Gen 1 model, with the internal magazine.
It would appear so yes. The Hog Hunter gen 1 or gen 2 are really nice accurate rifles......Is that the only difference between the two generations?
Funny, I've had quite a few 700's, but hated the one Model Seven I owned, couldn't get rid of it fast enough and it did shoot really well. It somehow felt too small in every dimension of the stock. IDK...?Remington Model Seven, very handy and handsome rifle and full LOP
