This is a question about the compensated barrel on Tanfoglio Gold Eric open gun. On my gun, one part of the barrel turns against the other - I mean the compensated part probably is screwed on the solid part of the barrel, and you can turn one against the other. Is it supposed to be that way, for better aligning the bushing and the guide rod opening during assembly? Or the barrel has to be completely solid? Does it affect accuracy?

One time I tried to locktite the thread, it held for a while, but now it turns again. Should I be worried and do something about it or just leave it be?

The compensator should not turn on the barrel. Red Locktite should be used. The alignment is taken care of by the guide rod and the barrel is free floating until the lug re engages on lockup to battery.

I would have a smith look at it if you are not up to the task.

I don’t think is a problem, the guide rod does the alignment as mentioned above but there is no reason to spend money on a gunsmith . By the way had a chance to play with one of the new open cz guns , guess what the comp is removable and attached on the barrel just by screwing in .
