I'm trying to get a good idea on what my first gun purchase should be. My girlfriend and I want to get into IPSC or something similar but we do want to compete. As I watch reviews on guns I am considering I sometimes hear "not really a competition gun" but then they say "but it really shines in IPSC". Are they talking about competition being a stationary shooting. I am considering 3 possibly 4 guns. I do not want to have to invest a bunch of money in modifications to a gun so I want to shoot out of the box. I like the baby eagle, the cz 75 Phantom, the cz 75 Omega (haven't tried it) and the Glock 34 (haven't tried it). All seem to be excellent guns, I like the heft of the Baby Eagle and the price is crazy good, the Phantom is very nice as well and price is excellent as well. The omega is a couple hundred more as is the glock. I want reliable, shootable, fun and something I don't have to give a gun smith a bunch of money to make it shootable. I know I'm comparing composite and metal.
My girlfriend has decided on the cz 75 sp-01 shadow and I would like something different than hers. Both of us will be shooting 9mm.
