Composite Stocks

The game scout is a nice stock. I have one on my 7mm and really like it. If we could have that duplicated in Canada I'd have one on all my bolt rifles.

I am told it is going ahead for sure there are just other commitments right now.
I would really like to see them do a stock like the manners tactical ( sorry can't seem to load a pic of it)

To me this is about as close to perfect for a long range hunter/sniper stock as you can get.
If he builds these I will buy at least 2 and probably 3 of them but they have to be wide enough to accept a Barnard action.

MCS-T2A AND T2

This stock comes in two versions the T2A which has an adjustable cheek and the T2 that is non adjustable. The T2A comes standard with an adjustable cheek and KMW hardware. Both come standard with a fixed 1″ Pachmyer Decel pad. It can also be ordered with the optional butt spacer system and a Pachmyer Decelerator pad .

The standard weight for the T2A is 3.9 lbs. And the T2 is 2.6 lbs. The forend is 2.40” wide at the tip and will take barrels up to 1.350 inches in diameter. A lot of work went into the design of the back of the stock. It has a flat that is about 3/4″ wide on the bottom with true running sides. This allows the stock to ride very straight and true when using a rear bag. The MCS-T2 was designed around a Rem 700 style action, but can be had for Winchester, Savage, Howa and other actions.

For a complete list please check out the order online/stock builder, or call for more details.

I would definitely buy one of these if it is inletted for a Tikka T3 short action.

Update. The new maker still has other jobs on his plate but the good news is that he has dropped many 1000's on tools and materials. His first stock will be a GP hunter with notches for a 700 Rem.

If I were doing this I would probably NOT go after a large market, like hunting rifles or the general tactical rifle as they are already very well represented. Unless you can innovate with something new, and in fact that would be your best option, you will end up in a price war. Being the new kid on the block you then have to be the cheapest - the low Canadian dollar is your friend so this can help, but I would try and find a niche market that is underserved. You would need to sell to the US market to make this more than just a hobby. You need a great online presence, so just use Shopify right off the bat, and you will be ahead of a lot of Cdn gun related websites (there are exceptions like Wolverine, Grouse River etc). My personal wish would be for a fibreglass composite type stock for a drop in Swiss K31 barrelled action in a competition or tactical style stock (competitors are McGuiness stocks, beautiful, drop in ready, wood, but $700 Cdn and Boyds; $100 Cdn, wood, need to work it yourself, looks ok, not sure about the fit). i might also consider making left hand composite stocks for the Savage Model 12's (benchrest, F TR, Palma) but you need to research the viability of that. There could be an existing base of left hand owners that might jump on it. Maybe team up with a local smith to come up with something new?

I wish someone would make something like a Remington Sendero stock( hs precision) but a little longer, a lot stiffer and a little more shallow butt angle . I also wish they would make it to accept larger actions like the Barnard. If he could make a stock like that I would be in for 3 of them....Here's wishing but not holding my breath...

With a really low Canadian dollar it could really drive exports of quality stocks.
