these posts always turn into "how can i become a contracter" i have family that are in contracting in iraq and trust me you need at least 8 years mil service in the right areas + a impressive resume to boot
by the way you would think they would give there contractors more freedom in what they want to choose i mean there putting there lives on the line if the guy wants a ak give it to him

last trip in I used my Ruger 10/22 in an AK style stock. custom 35 round mags for it, 14 inch barrel. Could knock an insurgent off his camel at 200 paces, from the hip no less. Not sure what'll take next contract as I understand there is now a price on my head over there. something about sodomizing something or another. ^yep the remington 597 shooting .17HMR is a force to be reckoned with.

the best thing about using the Ruger is the recoil isn't too bad. When firing it full auto (Bill Ruger sent me a custom receiver designed for that, when I told him I was going over to protect Americans), anyhow as I was sayin, when firing full auto it can move you around a bit, but with practice you can keep it within a 5 ft beaten zone at 15yds. It's amazing. I'd thought about going to one of the 17's but the extra recoil due to their higher velocity was just too much for me to deal with. I also have some morals, and killing someone in the way a .17 does, well it's too much for me man. I'd have nightmares after having to see bodies torn apart like that.

yeah if they WHERE working as mercenaries then that really could be a problem....

they are working as security contractors protecting, people. places and things.... all defensive , to be a mercenary they would have to be undertaking offensive roles.
