I have a Model 39 and a Model 60 but the 3rd one is the winner..... Model 82!
mine, from how the story goes, came by way of my grandfather.
he went off to WWII and at some point he picked up one of the trainer rifles.
once back from the war he never again had the urge to fire a gun, so the rifle sat in a closet for years until my dad came along and was given the gun when he was in his early teens. he shot the gun up until 2 years ago when he gave it to me.
i gave it a massive cleaning which took me 2 days to do.
gun had probably never been cleaned other then a couple shots of WD40 once in a while.
the gun has always been scary accurate.
i have fond memories of my dad shooting that gun every weekend when we went out into the fields to thin out the gopher populations.
think i have a pick of it in my photo bucket, i shall go look.
here is a pic of the model 39 that i learned to shoot on, i refinished the stock couple years back and my girls are learning to shoot on it now.
