Core 15 ar's what are your thoughts

A Core 15 is not "milspec". An LMT is a good bit closer to that.

Based on what information ? According to Core15 website mil spec is a starting point . To quote from their website the Mil spec standard for a 14.5" and a 20 " barrel requires a consistency of .0010 from front to rear , according to their sources nothing less than .0003 will make it through their inspection rate. To be a mil spec gun a manufacture requires a ten percent inspection rate of firearms off the line . According to Core 15 website their inspection rate is 100 percent . They are using 7075 t-6 aluminum in all their receivers and polygonal rifling in their barrels and their piston models use the Adams Arms kit which seems to be the unit of choice . According to their website they have Izzy Anzuldua working for them. His last two positions in working for Bushmaster were Director of Law Enforcement and Director of Global Training and Technical Services . He worked for Bushmaster for 22 years before moving to Core 15. If you feel their product is not up to Mil Spec send him an e-mail and I would imagine he would entertain a response to guide you into having an informed opinion on their products .

LOL - whatever fanboys.

I don't have a copy of the M16 TDP with me, but from what is generally known:

1) CORE does NOT have the M16/M4 TDP (Colt, Colt Canada and FN do).
2) half of all Ar makers claim "mil spec" in their ad copy because consumers have no way to verify that. It's bogus.
3) 16" barrels are NOT mil spec.
4) AA gas pistons are NOT mil spec.
5) Chevrons in the magwell are NOT mil spec.
6) Bullet pictograms and enhanced bevelled magwells are NOT mil spec.
7) 4140 for barrel steel is NOT mil spec (single biggest "smoking gun here).
8) Bolts are not HPT which is NOT mil spec.
9) 6 position receiver extensions are NOT mil spec (2, 4 and 5 position extensions are allowed for in the TDP)
10) Polygonal rifling is NOT milspec.

Bushmaster is probably one of the top 5 WORST Ar manufacturers in the business, so company principles having worked there proves nothing.

I'm not trying to say anything is wrong with the Core 15, but to call it mil spec is FRAUDULENT advertising ;)

PS: Nice post count abolt1. Any chance you work for Wantsalls or Core? You sure sound defensive of this new offering with limited reviews.
f:P:
Claven2 this is the third thread I have read in this forum about stuff that you do not know a 100% about. Please do not make 50calshooter say the same stuff over and over again.
I'm not being defensive, you just continue to post false info on this subject over and over again, even again in this post. If injecting some fact and proper explanation into a thread is defensive, then I guess I'm guilty.

Carry on,
P.S. Colt & FN sub contract stuff out to you know!?!
hahahaha

Edit:

Nevermind. Everyone wanting a milspec AR should send Satain a case of scotch and buy a CORE15. I will enjoy reading his and 50cal's comments demonstrating how the rifle is mil spec as per the vendor's advertising.

Wasn't looking to start this up all I care about mil spec is the interchangeability of parts. Not wether it is a direct copy of the mil spec of a colt sp1

OMG..calling somebody else a FanBoy, is that not like calling the kettle black coming from the original NEA FanBoy. Talk about ego's. I am surprised you are still around as the black rifle expert of the month. Should you not be moving to Milisurp as expert of the month or maybe pistol expert, I thnk it's about time........

How mature of you.

1) I don't even own an NEA rifle. If I've been a fanboy of any AR15, it's Aero Precision. I did defend NEA when ppl like yourself were saying incorrect things about their products, but that's off topic.

2) I'm not an expert in anything AR and have never claimed to be - you seem to like making that claim for me though...? I can read specs though and it's pretty obvious to even a casual observer when a specification is not being met.

3) I collect milsurps avidly. I'm not any kind of "expert", but do have a nice reference library. I don;t go to the pistol forum much except when it's a milsurp pistol... WTF are you taking about!?! I used to shoot M14 in service rifle, have built a good number of them for other shooters and have helped out at a clinic or two but never made any expert claims there either. As for AR's, I build them frequently from other people's parts. I shoot them a lot too - probably more than you do. But I guess you have more right to post on a forum from your mother's basement than I do. Makes sense... lol.

Done being the "expert of the month" on what I do or do not know? Or would you prefer to show off how ignorant and rude you are a little longer? Or maybe we're only allowed to post on one sub-forum per month and I missed that CGN rule in the posted list...?

PS: Welcome to my ignore list.

Farmboy is a dealer I respect.
I would like to hear his thoughts on the quality
and function of the Core-15 rifles.

To be honet, DI technology is well understood and any DI gun from a reputabel maker should work well enough for us. The Core15 is probably a great shooter and I look forward to trying one at some point so that I can endorse these guns from a position of personal experience. It doesn't bother me one whit whether they meet milspec or the TDP, so long as they shoot well and work reliably - it just irks me (from an advertising law standpoint) when any manufacturer claims "milspec" but has major design choice deviations from the actual spec.

I'm far more interested to demo at piston version at some point to see how well they work. Piston guns are a far greater unknown to most of us than the DI guns we all use and are used to.

Now that Colt is marketing their own piston system made according to US Army interest, it will be interesting to see if that becomes the new de-facto industry standard and what that does to other legacy designs in the marketplace.

So we got a couple of the CORE 15 rifles in stock.

I'd compare them in style to the Colt Canada rifles I've used. Great finish, no tooling marks at all. Everything fits together extrememly well.

I would highly recommend these rifles.

Comes with a hard case and lock.

I'll try and get some pics up and more thoughts soon.
