Coronavirus and its effect on food supplies.

My wife won’t let me kill any of the squirrels that forced their way into my garage and chewed up my goose decoys. I know what I’m eating if food supply is limited. There’s enough squirrel meat in my part of the city to feed a small village.

Same here. My wife hates the squirrels because they eat the bird food she puts out.
She might let me harvest some if the worst case scenario happens.

Yes, it is hard to reconcile Government reaction - and now private sector reaction (there are people / companies in London who no longer meet any visitors or travel) - with the message that this is just a serious Cold.

Whatever the real answer may be to the question of severity for the Virus, the Human reaction to it is real and we will feel it for some time.

We have noted the rather disproportionate response of gov'ts all over the world to 'just a cold, nothing to see here'. If it's just a cold, why all the fuss and hair fires?

On a brighter note, I will be most interested to see how quickly domestic manufacturing can step up (read: get rebuilt from the ashes)... That has possibilities for the future, if we can just get rid of the virus, and find someone who will stand up for Canada the way President Trump stands up for America.

We have been notified by an importer that ammunition is starting to run low. There is not as much been produced, USA is stock piling and there is not as much in the supply chain. It will seem plentifull for a little while, however like how storable food went, once it runs low or out it will be sudden.

I've read quite a few things from scientists saying people really need to chill out. Less than 3% of people will get it with anything more than a cold or normal flu symptoms. Even less than that will be even close to terminal. There's a very high likelihood if you've already been sick you've already had a form of the scary Corona virus.

I am not trying to start a war here but please do not spread misinformation about the virus, or any unless you are certified to do so. This is not a personal attack and I am not providing any information however, people should refer to their doctor, hospital systems or trusted information from accredited virology sources re the mortality rates, risk factors etc. NOT from a gun forum.

There are realy 2 separate factors.

1. What the virus will do to the body (infection and death rate) Severe but not life threatening for most.

2. What society will do to react (shut things down, limiting travel, house arrest of the population & a tumbling economy) Devastating.

People can say what they want about how minor it is, however societies reaction is something to be aware of so that you are not left with little to nothing.

On sunday when we were grocery shopping at 2 stores we noticed that there were no Bananas left. Really weird as they come from Central America. Has anyone noticed this in their town?

We are going to try to buy what ever we can, however since many distributors also have a retail side, they may hold back allot for their sales.

Way to instill calm there guys. Lol.

plenty of everything (bananas included) at my local Costco today. One exception though: toilet paper. None, nada, zilch.

Down in small town texas and new mexico there is still lots of ammo in all the walmarts and the gunstores I have visited...rice, masks, wipes, handsanitizer, rubbing alcohol and even bleach are pretty much gonzo tho...Seems like when people don't know what to do they gotta do something...making our way north through the less settled areas as fast as the weather allows it when one is towing 30 plus feet of trailer...will try to avoid washington all together...
