Corrosive ammo cleaning

I think it is best to clean all of the steel parts of the SKS with boiling water because I have found that rust can appear in the gas piston. After putting a few hundred rounds down range, everything gets pretty dirty and black. If it can get dirty and black my reasoning is that the salt could have made it there too. Clean it all off with boiling water, dry it well, and then a light layer of oil to keep out the rust. That has worked well for me.

P.S. Even with all the other guns I own, the SKS is the most satisfying feeling to shoot.
