I received my sample mags from Corwin (many thanks) and will be testing them this weekend at class. I am very impressed at Corwin for sending these to me after reading a comment I'd made about their mags and not having personal experience with them. They are new manufacture but of a hybrid design, older style baseplate, the thin metal one, but with a modified rear of the feedlips (kind of a semi circular cut vs the rectangular cut where the slide comes through to pick up the next round), with the new antifriction coating on them. The semi circular cut is not like the actual MecGar mags I run, and it looks like it might have been done by hand before finishing, on the two mags I have the cut is not the same between the two of them. The front of the feedlips is the older style square and doesn't have the tab sticking up like the newer MG mags have. The metal seems to be of the same thickness as the current MG ones, so much thicker than the old ones CZ used to ship with the Shadows. I'm going to guess these are made by MecGar, even though Corwin can't tell us and the mags are simply marked, Made in Italy, much like the older Beretta mags MG used to make for Beretta. Follower is black and is again not the same as my current MG mags, but is also not the same as the CZ issued ones from years past. I'll post some more info on these mags once I've run them this weekend, I'm impressed with the fit and finish of these mags, and don't expect any trouble with them.
