Cougar hunting with dogs?

Lots of folks Ted. I know of a few in Alberta and BC, its a good run for the heart if you want to do it. Up until now a lack of snow has made this a tougher season from what I have heard. Need some numbers?

rem338win is correct Ted, lots of outfits around for chasing cats. I know quite a few as well if you need contacts for Alberta for future seasons.

We were out a few times this year with some buddies in Cranbrook. It's a great way to help pass the winter. These are two of the cats we treed.

Is there a lot of Cougars in the Western province, i was told that in Quebec there is only about 90 cats in the wild... Cheers. JP.

I use a basset hound for cougars.... She runs up to them, leans against their legs and rolls over for a belly rub. Then it's easy to start up a conversation about how cute my dog is..... :D

That's perhaps because you have never been there. I feel the same about baiting bears, but have friends in other places that really enjoy it.

I do appreciate your respectful post.

Not gonna get cranky about it ...
But unethical , too me ...
Gun owners ... Thumbs up
Dog owners thumbs up ...
Wonderful cat thumbs up ....
MAN, GUNS, DOGS, chasing the CAT ...
:( just two cents ...

Respectfully, you're province allows dogs to chase deer out there last I checked. And treeing cats is no slam dunk. Cats go vertical quick.
Anyway, I think thats an emotional response to something you don't understand entirely.

I'm a hunter. I don't feel any need to kill a cat. I could care less what others want to do, I would like to hear the stores and see the pictures. If the chance ever popped up for me to go, I would go.

Yup, I was going to say the same thing. I think he is a guide and had some awesome pic's of cougars up in a tree with his dogs below.

He's from Williams Lake, BC ... daarn it for the life of me I cannot remember his CGN name ... chilcotin or something ...
