Is it really volume buying power or is it because certain "distribitors" have a monopoly and can set what ever price they want? I certainly don't want to bash any retailers but it seems odd that "mom and pop" stores in the States, who I'm sure aren't big volume buyers, can have such low prices.
The retailers here have to make a living and I support them 100% but some of the discrepancies in prices are disheartening but I don't think it's their fault at all.
I've seen Sig 226 Blackwater editions for $900.00 in small US shops that only have 5 or 6 Sigs on display. These are not modified in any way for Canada but the prices here are $1500.00. I'm sure the "distributer" buys enough Sigs to get a better deal than "mom and pop" can.
Oh by the way there is no "duty" on US firearms and the distributers hold goods in Bond so they only pay duty when the goods are sold and released from Bond.
