Apparently the first quail introductions to the Victoria area were in the early 1860s
Never saw much of the quails on the Gulf Islands, I have never witnessed a "wild" pheasant either.
Wow, that is a very early date for the Vancouver island area. A lot of Salish place names in the Saanich Peninsula are associated with blue grouse if you can believe it.
You don't use flu-flus for that kind of work hoyt? Or is that a target of opportunity on a treebound grouse sluicing mission?
