Coyote Guns??

The savage model 10 predator with the heavy barrel is a really accurate rifle, mine was a 223, cheaper ammo, the hornady superperformance 53 gr was close to the 22-250 but that ammo is expensive

I'm using a Savage 10 xp in .223. I use a foxpro and quiver critter as well as mouth calls and bait piles. To be honest, in 4 years of trying I have yet to seal the deal on a coyote, been busted several times and missed a few as well. They sure are tough to hunt. Partly because there aren't a ton of them here, they have large ranges and in my area they are few open areas.

I use the sled some this time of the year to get off the beaten trails and into new areas. I'm sure the noise and smell isn't helping me one bit but sleds and bikes are quite common around so surely they don't run every time they hear/ smell one?

I have a Sako Vixen in a 17 remington with a leupold 6.5x20. It works well, the fun is shooting things with a bullet the size of a piece of rice. They are impressive.

Well, they may not run every time, but they very likely won't come very often either. How far away can YOU hear a sled? How can you expect to use sound to call an animal after you arrive in the area on one of the noisiest vehicles ever invented?

Try snow shoes. I bet your success rate will go up.
