Went coyote hunting last night and shot my first tripple. A group of three came in to 135 yards. I dropped the first one and the other two took off. I shot the second one on the run at 210 yards, and shot the third one at 276 yards as it stood and looked back for his buddies.
I went out again this morning to the same spot and shot two singles. One at 82 yards, and the other one at 187 yards. I used a 6mm Ithaca LSA-55 and each coyote dropped right where it was hit. I shot the 5 coyotes at a neighbours farm where he has a huge coyote infestation. I saw 7 other coyotes that never came in between last night and this morning.
The tripple is definetly something I will never forget, especially getting one on the run.

Last night and todays pictures.

I've never tried Coyote hunting as they haven't been here in our province for all that long and I don't have the right caliber rifle yet, (I'm hoping to change that soon or the regs will change to allow hunting them with a 243 win)

I hope to see a few this fall when hunting moose that way I can shoot them with what ever I'm using for moose.
(I'm thinking a 300 win mag is going to ruin the pelt though)G:

:rockOn:Awesome feat. I'd love to try my hand at coyote hunting one day only to be reminded of the story of the CGNer who got three coyotes at the same time and one was running. Can't make this stuff up up man.

That is great work. My brother traps a whole bunch to keep the numbers down but I so want to get out and do the calling thing one of these days but work sucks and takes up a bunch of my time so good on you, take down some more for the rest of us.

Looks like fun.

Questions.

What do you do with them when you kill them? (Hopefully not eat...)
When do you hunt them (night, morning, afternoon, dusk)?
Do you need to wear your orange (As I don't see the OP wearing any)?
Any other tricks or tips you may or may not have?
