CPC Leadership

Few months ago a buddy of mine mentioned Lewis, did a google search and that was it.

With McKay or O'toole I believe we will achieve the same results as Scheer.

We need to win Ontario, Quebec will do Quebec.

Dr Lewis or Bust. Nobody wants a milquetoast conservative, we already had milk-man Scheer for that. We need a fighter that pulls no punches! Unfortunately she won't be the first Black PM as JT had that role but I'm sure she'll be great as the second :)

Leslyn ........ who? There are things that I don't like about Peter McKay but we need to win this round and Peter McKay has the best chance. After this latest round of disrespecting parliament, I would bet the even scheer could win.

Peter Mckay doesn't deserve the time of day.

Wake up.

We need to be concerned about winning a federal election, Lewis will loose with her current position on abortion and lack of support for lgbt.

LGBT does not need more support than Catholic Church, they have legal rights in this country.
Concerning abortions if this lady Lewis is a good politician will know how to give an answer that will fit and bend in both ways in the same time.
With a white male leadership we will loose again, because Mass Media believe in inferiority of the white and will exploit it.

I don't know. Doug Ford has recently converted quite a few Liberals in my neck of the woods. Perhaps Liberals in Ontario are starting to realize having someone qualified for the position is paramount. Not that Leslyn isn't. She may very well be but we don't know for sure. Otoole certainly is.

My one problem with Lewis is she retweets Rempel, who could not be more of a virtue signalling anti free speech conservative in name only. Other than that, she ticks all the boxes.

Anyone know anything about Derek Sloan?

Normally... by which I mean over the last 30 years... I would have agreed with this. I would have said pick the establishment candidate (Mackay) to give ourselves the best chance. And if Mackay gets the leadership, we will all hold our breath, hope for the best, and we will all vote for him in the election. We have no choice.

He is a risk. Lewis is a different kind of risk. Women, people of colour, and people mentioning abortion do not have much of a record of success leading political parties, national or provincial, in this country. But then again... I can't remember there ever being a Black woman running for the leadership of a major party, let alone with these kinds of right-of-centre policies.

We've got to try something. We need to give ourselves a chance in the next election.

Derek Sloan I don't think is really in the game this time. Erin O'Toole, as much as I like and respect him, is going to get shredded like Sheer, Preston Manning, Stockwell Day, and even Harper (before the idiots parked their votes with the NDP for a couple of election cycles). A lot of guys and gals here are too young to remember this.... but we need something more like Mulroney when he came on the scene in the 1980s. Something new. Slick. Corporate. Shiny. A Conservative that could carry both Quebec and Ontario, and crushed his opposition... making them look like yesterday's men.

We may never see that again (and what is "something new" in 2020/21 will be a lot different than it was in 1984. Certainly a slickk corporate lawyer from Quebec will not be our ticket this time), But when you run yesterday's man, you are at risk of getting "yesterday's man results" (U.S. examples: Jeb Bush, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, etc.)

I am still talking to people and trying to decide. I think it is Lewis (new) or Mackay (establishment). I think those are the only real choices.

The reason Scheer got shredded, is his fear of stepping on toes. We dont need a leader who thinks they can get the marxists to like them. We need a leader who has principals, who understands what he is up against, and is ready to face the firing squad with facts reason and evidence which more often than not, will convert the common man to his vision. Someone needs to borrow the PPC platform and run with it.

I'm throwing my vote behind an educated, black, immigrant woman who seems to also apply logic and common sense to her platform and has committed to stand up against the gun ban. Any other candidate, JT will shred because he will say whatever he can to discredit them. Leslyn, I can't see him attack in the same way he did Scheer... same goes for the media attacking her.

Doesn't anyone here feel sold out by the CPC?

They pay lip-service to every conservative social issue , whether it is immigration, abortion, native issues, environment, etc. , to try and get as much of the vote as possible and pander to us conservatives by saying "Hey deal with it we will get you a tax break."

The conservative party is no longer a party of principles, I voted PPC, you will say I wasted my vote. But I will leave you with a Maggy quote, sums up the Cons;

“The process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values, and policies in search of something in which no one believes, but to which no one objects; the process of avoiding the very issues that have to be solved, merely because you cannot get agreement on the way ahead. What great cause would have been fought and won under the banner: ‘I stand for consensus?”

the only best way to win ,Toronto and quebec ,is Leslyn lewis !

I can't do that, I am a man of my word, my word is my bond, my integrity is everything or I loose face with both sides of the fight, then I am worthless to the cause. Will I win, maybe not, but I can hold my head up high and look down at the bullies and liars with distain because they will also know who is truly honourable.

Fair enough.

I believe her visible minority status and her gender will give her and edge. Toronto is the place to win even more than Québec. Days in days out they wont elect more than 10 in Quebec.

After much thought and looking deeply into backgrounds and positions taken publicly, as well emails exchanged, I am Lewis first choice and O'Toole second.

Right after the recent OIC gun ban, I signed up for CPC membership again to have my say on a CPC leader.

We are desperately in need of a strong CPC party. Please contact the prospective leadership candidates and ask what they plan to do with this Liberal OIC.

Then make your choice and join the CPC everyone over age of 14 can join the CPC get all your family on board. Only purchase a one year membership and do not include a donation, explain that you will only pay for results.

Hurry as I believe the deadline for membership in order to vote in the CPC leadership race is May 14th.

Same here, I've spoken to her in person and she is a very nice lady, so far in my mind, she's leading, but O'Toole, still has some points, the turd cannot touch her, he's a so called feminist, and if he says ANYTHING against her it will be taken as racist and just fuked

FFS, she’s a environmental nut job. Do some research before voting for greta 20/20. Our only hope for Canada is the PPC, and I voted CPC last election. The cons won’t even stand behind D. Sloan for calling it like it is.
