Thanks!Nice Kit Xero! Damn that is sweet!
Yeah IR lasers are expensive in Canada because 90% of them are made in the USA. Which means dealing with ITAR. And IR lasers fall into a category of items that are typically only reserved for LE/Mil usage, so the paperwork to get them up here legally is extensive...WOW. That may change my plans a bit. I didn't realize they were THAT expensive.
By dual IR you mean the IR laser and the IR light in one unit?
And yes, the DBAL-I2 9007 unit has an IR laser and IR light/illuminator in one unit. Most of the DBAL-I2 units are a visible laser combined with an IR laser, with no IR illuminator.
Measure all you want, in real life the "issue" isn't nearly as extreme as you make it out to be.I don't speak from assumption. If you have a regular mount and the INVG side by side, take a ruler out and you can tell the difference. Headship has nothing to do with it, unless eyeballs can pop out by an inch.
Anyways, anyone who wants to copy this setup should do a bit of google search. This issue had been talked about somewhere else, such as AR15.com It had been wondered by other people why the NOD is so far out there when they put a wilcox J-arm on an INVG.
With the INVG retracted all the way as it is in the photo I showed, it's comparable to all other J-Arm solutions I've used in the past. The DDA is definitely better since it was DESIGNED to work with the INVG, but that doesn't make the J-Arm / INVG combination useless by any means.
