CQBR / Mk18 Mod1 Clone thread - Show us your clones!

So this thread only for clones or can we post Mk. 18-inspired builds? I was going to build my own interpretation of one, as well as the fact that getting clone-correct parts is hilariously expensive, so I was wondering if I could post it when it was done here.

Some words to live by from a level 5 clone master on ARF:

I: Clones are really cool, but I bet I can improve upon the design with an inspired build.
II. I'm disappointed with my inspired build because it just doesn't scratch the itch and no one wants to see pics of my rifle. I bet I can sub out a few parts that are more expensive for cheaper options.
III. Alright, why did I waste my money on those non-spec parts when I knew I wouldn't be pleased. I'll settle for a 90% build with some minor, non-clone subs.
IV. Alright, I admit I am powerless to resist a spec clone, and I atone for my prior sins and building crap-tier builds that neither I like not anyone else wants to see. I will now build as to-spec as I reasonably can minus getting an M16A1 lower.
V. All your clone are belong to me. I am ECPrevatte, destroyer of clones.

Pictures! got the paint marker out to make mine more "legit"

Awesome pics as usual. BTW, it was nice to finally meet you, lol!

I need a colt 10.3 barrel and I will have a Mod 1 that will melt your eyes.
savannah era RIS II (2008)
Peq 15 (mil version)
SU230PVS spectre DR (US version)
all the small parts, KAC sights, NT4, CQD stuff
The barrel is eluding me at the moment.

All the stuff above was collected over the last 8 years, and was on various versions of my MK 18 Mod1, LMT stuff, etc

Not a true clone, but I'll pitch in a slightly-evolved derivative a couple cop buddies and I have been developing. (This is a Weight & Balance mockup built on a dummy lower; my part of the job was the top half and one of the other guys is building the live bottom half. The minor upper and lower parts and FCG are omitted to offset the weight of the solid, unmachined FCG-pocket area--remember, not to rub it in but where I live we can have 80%'s.) The concept is a "Discreet Carry" model for Stakeout Squad, Executive Protection and PDW-type roles; for Home D I'd rather have something similar but a couple inches longer with another rail-mount mag carrier or two. (When things Go Bump In The Night, one may not have time to fully gear up, and having a couple spares right on the gun ensures you at least have *something* to fight with even if you don't have time to throw on the LBE and other "Party Wear".)

Base model: West Coast USN EOD variant with Vltor CASV-EL handguard (I got literally the last one Vltor will ever make), combined with foregrip and maingrip of FBI tactical AR's (FAB Defense PTK foregrip and AGF-43 maingrip; I added the VTS thumbrest because it places my thumb just right to hit the switch on the main light). Green furniture instead of FDE in deference to operating environment (not a lot of Sandbox/Rockpile here on the Wet Side of the Cascades). Back half changed to pistol and suppressor deleted for US NFA compliance; Vltor A5 buffer system added for improved reliability and LAW Tactical sidefolder for "Briefcase Carry" capability. Indian Creek BFD collar (not pictured; awaiting bayonet-lug chop) to be added for blast mitigation; Precision Armament AFAB (under muzzle cap) selected for flash reduction. (This thing is being built to live in a briefcase with all the crud you'd expect, so I need something to keep dustbunnies out of the bore.) Optics changed to Diamondhead rear BUIS and DI Optical FC1 prism-sight to accommodate my failing eyes--without my glasses, I can't read the text on my laptop screen from a foot away, and back in college my buddies and I won a lot of free lunches on sucker-bets about "bet you can't outshoot the blind kid."

Specific components in my build:
--Andro Corp (Ballistic Advantage) 10.3" NSWC-Crane spec barrel
--Toolcraft black-nitride BCG (this is the same exact BCG that the US Defense Department buys for spares, except theirs are phosphated and this is nitrided)
--most of an Anderson LPK (pins, springs, detents) plus milspec ambi safety
--KNS anti-walk FCG pins
--Strike Industries ultralight extended takedown pins
--(planned) ALG Quality Mil-Spec trigger pack
--DSA Enhanced Delta Ring--this is my sole "ornamental" component choice, selected for its better fit with the CASV handguard
--SB Tactical SBM4 brace, with a Pmag in the "tunnel"
--Arisaka Mossie Mount for (planned) Lasermax Uni-Max green-beam laser
--Olight PL-1 II Valkyrie "dazzler" light
--Princeton Tec Switch Rail low-power red "nav" light (in addition to being nearsighted, I have very light sensitive eyes)
--CAA MPS mag carrier (works just as well on a forend as on the stock it was designed for)
--considering a Blitzkrieg Components chevron FSP for its possibilities as built-in elevation reference

I'm between image-hosts, but I'll edit in a pic when I settle on somebody better than Photosucksit, then add another once the last electronics are on and then the final once it's all joined together for range trials. Rifle punch in a pistol package with 62-64gr. Gold Dots or Mk 262.

So... absolutely zero clone parts?

Post your project in ARF's The 10.3” Mk 18 & 10.3” CQBR thread, and your fellow American AR15 enthusiast would probably have you tarred and feathered for posting in it.

I find the folks on CGN far more forgiving, but please refer to the following post from ARF:

Just wait till you get to the glass.

I'm gonna loose out on clone correct points in that department. LOL......I honestly dont like Elcans and I already have an Eotech on my other MK18. I have a couple of Aimpoint Micro's sitting in the safe and I plan to mount one of those. I know, totally not clone correct but I cant let good optics go to waste!
