I had a picture of it from a SOPMOD document at one point. They had NSN numbers for both the full length M4A1 upper with a 14" barrel, and also same rail system cut to 12.25" so the muzzle threading shoulder is essentially in-line with the end of the RIS II rail. Just makes it slightly more compact.

I believe you refer to the gl/ssc RIS II, wich was never really adopted, or at least not in significant numbers.

yes exactly right. The gl/ssc is RARE. The Xero upper is a nice approximation though.
10.3, 12, and 14.5 RIS II uppers
So I have sourced a few parts for a mod 0 clone/homage rifle. Problem I am having is finding a correct flash hider, KAC NT4. If anyone has any ideas or leeds pls contact me.

I have one that I Armacoated FDE. It's been bead blasted. It just needs to be re-parkerized. It should be re-park in the next week or two.

I have both. They pretty much are the same with the exception of a few small differences such as the 1 vs 2 piece construction and 4 bolt vs 6 bolt lock up (6 bolts depending on what gen Lite rail you get). Saying all this, there is a RISii handguard on the EE right now......saw it yesterday I believe

the profile of hand guard is actually pretty different.
I imported a bunch of them and sold the last 2 I had on the EE.

Bobo1972, if you are doing a mk18 build, the kac rail is pretty much a necessity, Nothing else is clone correct (assuming you are doing a mod0).
Patience is the name of the game when cloning, you will find good deals but it may take time and it will be worth it. If you want to go fast you will usually spend more money.
