It is one thing to kill like that if you don't have a modern weapon. But clearly, if they can afford video cameras and radio dog collars, they could have used a gun. Causing extra suffering should be avoided at all costs. He put himself, his son and those dogs at extra risk. This kind of BS is what makes us hunters look like knuckle draggin mouth breathers to the anti-hunting crowd. We are not cave men, we don't need play pretend on youtube. Shameful,

I think using a knife is the traditional way to hunt pigs with dogs since everything is in such close quarters that using a gun would be dangerous to the dogs and people around.
If you think anti hunters care about how you hunt the animals, you are sadly mistaken.
So the only way to grow up as a "real man" is to repeatedly stab a defenceless animal while you are still a child? Has nothing to do with being taught respect, honesty, and integrity I guess. Your ignorance and arrogance commendable.
I suppose "real men" have no need for proper spelling or grammar either.

Pig hunting with dogs and a big knife is BIG in the south. I see nothing wrong with it...a 12" bowie to the heart is just as effective (or clsoe enough) as a bullet. its more "in your face" is all.

As for the hog hunting wow..I cant help but judge, Im sure its "normal" in the south..but wow, that's not for me. I would stick with a firearm, or archery.

Maybe that kid was a little skittish and maybe he was not ready for it dispite his father's orders. For the most part, I have no problem with hunts using primitive means. Takes some fortitude to close with and complete this task, with or even more so, without dogs.
I'm sure anyone with a decade or so of deer hunting under his belt has personally witnessed poor hunter marksmanship leading to unwanted animal suffering. No-one wants this, and for the most part, most of us strive to bring about the quickest harvest. No-one here, is in any hurry to ban big game hunting in every province right? Fact is, we live in an imperfect world.
One could use this same way of thinking that led to the ban on archery hunting of deer in England in the early 1980's. Because it was preceived as "cruel" by the masses converted by the lefty leaning media and the nanny state. Not to mention our own seal hunt lovingly attacked by the popular press.

Exactly. I don't want someone dancing around spitting lead in that melea.
The dogs are there to persue and hold, the hunter is there to kill.
IMO, a knife between the ribs would be a lot more humane that someone shelling away at a moving target like that.
I would love to go on a hog hunt like that.. anyone who wouldnt has no balls.. theres nothing cruel about it.. theres no getting away and the pig can kill back.. people do die in these kind of hunts.. Thats nature and if you want to be a hunter sometimes things do get messy.. thats part of the experience.. im sure some of you have a list of one shot kills and maybe have never had to kick a dog off a coon to get the double tap in or chase a goose with a broken wing down a field to spin his head off..
As strange as it may seem i think modern day bowhunting has sensitized hunters they observe deer everyday and then when they pick the one they want they slip an arrow into it and it trots off into the bush.. the hunter waits an hour and follows the red road to his dead deer.. never having to see it die.. almost a perfect little world really.. guys like that dont get the whole experience.. the struggle of life and death.. kind of a shame really because you can sit there and say you hunt for the experience of being out in the woods and escaping from civilization but the truth is its something more than that.. its got to be or else we'd just go camping.. so before anyone criticizes a little pig hunting think about how many geese you put steel in that flew away or maybe just how long it took that deer you shot to die..

I'm sure we can find someone who does not like your chosen hunting sport and they can pick apart you too.
