Dogleg said:Noel,
I didn't think they were Brnos, or at least the right ones for that rifle. Brno/CZ must know how to make rings to fit their own integral bases. Still, I wonder what stops these rings from sliding?![]()
Dogleg said:Demonical,
These are Warne QDs for a 602/550 but I've had CZ, Leupold and 2 kinds of Warnes. They all have a lug for the cut-out. If those are Brno rings they are for a different model, or you possibly have 2 front rings. Off-hand I can't think of any mounting system except for .22 tip-offs that don't have some sort of mechanical lock for and aft.

Demonical said:Mr. Dogleg, I am quite an ignorant man. I was not even aware there was such a thing as a cut-out for scope rings to recess into...![]()
Funny thing, but until you brought it up I didn't even know my rifle had 'em, but there they are, clear as daylight...
Well I guess I gots to take a look at my rifle and rings. I still believe they are Brno rings...![]()
Humbly, Demonical.
Edit: Oh yeah, and as stupid as this might sound, I don't intend to change the set-up.
Dogleg said:Demonical,
Well if it's working for you, why change? On the other hand, if it does move someday you'll know why.
[/QUOTE]When I admitted I didn't even know that recess was there, you musta got a chuckle over that one, eh!?![]()

I am almost 100% sure they are not CZ rings......
Dogleg said:You can change the rings without moving the scope at all. The new rear ring will just sit a little farther ahead to mate with the recess, and the front ring doesn't have one.
Dogleg said:I like the way your cross-bolts turned out. My CZs already had one through the wrist so I just went with one additional at the recoil lug. I may go with a third one behind the magazine as well, but haven't quite decided. It would add a little more "all business" look.
