Crossbolts,rings & triggers-Brno rifles. Snow blowers SPF

I bought this at a garage sale today.

It wasn't running at the sale and both tires were flat. The price was $50. All it took was some air in the tires and some fresh gas...

It has hardly been used. 8 horsepower Tecumseh with 5 forward speeds plus reverse, a choke and throttle pull start and 120 volt electric start. It runs great..

What is it really worth?

Looks to be in VG-EX factory original condition, so it should fetch a fairly good price to the right collector. Maybe you would be better off posting this on one of the many the snowblower forums. You might feel right at home with that bunch of guys instead of us boring gun nut dewds. :D

Actually, come to think of it, you could use it for bear defence in the off season and pretty much get all year use out of it. Just a thought! :dancingbanana:

What is it about the set trigger on a 602 that people don't like?

The problem I have with the 602's set trigger is the stupid 2 piece assembly. I do admit that I used it when I shot my bull moose last fall though.

The set trigger on my CZ-550 is way too light. I mean you touch it and the rifle will fire; it's Nano-ounces!!
On a .458 Lott this can be problematic...

I find the set triggers useful at the range but if I could swap them both out for triggers exactly like on my M-700 .30-06 I would do it tomorrow.

Different strokes I guess, my 602 has the ugly set trigger, it works well and keeps me in food. If it was an ordinary trigger I couldn't care less, the rifle sends 300 grains of hell into a year's worth of dinner and I look good doing it.

the information in this thread is overwelming and was to hard to consume all in one sitting so I decided to use this thread as step by step instructions. I disassembled my rifle while reading the first couple posts, dremeled out the three crossbolt locations while reading the next few posts, then got interested in which scope mounts I was using. well things got fuzzy and trying to make up for lost time I stepped into overdrive to finish the task at hand. Well now I've got some problems see...seams that I mounted one scope in permanent rings, one in QD rings. Unfortunatly on closer inspection i noticed that there is one mounted on each handle of my snowblower see, thats not the problem though....the problem is when I installed the middle crossbolt I inadvertenly drilled it thought the con-rod rendering the engine useless, I can see the snow I want to blow crystal clear out to 400 yards but the damn motor wont spin with the crossbolt through the con-rod:eek:

thanks Dennis:evil:

I'll give you $100 for it if it runs. Prices tend to be seasonal on these things.

Demonical,
I hesitate to mention it, but have you tried adjusting the set trigger? It's a separate function. The main trigger is a three screw design that adjusts much like a Remington.
The CZ trigger is designed so those that don't like the single set function can remove the parts and eliminate it altogether. I used my set trigger on a 300 yard Gembuck last year, and use it on the bags most of the time.

Crimony this is a great thread! I am off to fix the title again!

Don't anyone else go try to put scope mounts, cross bolts or triggers from either your 600 or 602 on Dennis' snowblower without asking him first!

Does anyone know if the trigger on a ZG47 is adjustable?

At 10 pages, this thread is bordering on a "bear defence" thread for length and durability. Speaking of which, does anyone know how big a snowblower I need to protect myself from grizzlies? Should I port the muffler?

:p Stuart

Forget porting, take it off and throw it in the bush, same with the air filter.
Easier in, easier out.

Paul for the life of me I cannot find a member here by that "handle".

Hey, great Idea!! What sort of performance do we need for a bear defence snowblower!

There is a person who goes by the name Kutenay on the AR forums.

http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/personal?x_myspace_page=profile&u=690106

Is this who your looking for?

Nechako

Thanks Rich. I have a pm to Kutenay on the 24hr. We will find out!

Before the snowblowers started getting sold here we were looking for some Lynx rings IIRC.

I have found a source for the gloss only, in S. Afrika I think! The website is mousemall.co.za I am waiting back so I know the price conversion for sure.
They look to be about $74.00 CDN if I got the currency right. Alot more than I thought but still reasonable as long as the shipping isn't too much.

He only mentioned polished blue rings, no matte that he has spoke of yet.

...To be continued....

That snow blower isn't for sale... at least not to the cheap Ba$%&#@%s here. :D

I am thinking at idle it would throw a tennis ball in the air, and at full throttle would really toss it ... and that would make a good target for shotgun practice. Maybe it can be used in the off season.
