Crusader arms backland

Debunk, another vendor has it for pre sale.
Interesting. The original post on Liangjian said it was a custom order so that's why I thought it was them installing stocks and doing some refinement in store. But if it's showing up elsewhere then maybe it actually is an official Crusader product they just haven't announced anywhere.

CA does not seem like to announce it until vendors display their new products.

RDSC does have a full gunsmith shop and often offers stuff they've built so seeing a Backland Elite doesn't mean it's factory.

But it could be.

Freshly back from Crusader Arms after some warranty work, the Redneck Preppy has the Backland Hunter back in his possession for testing and review. Will the rifle actually cycle properly? Will it actually feed all rounds from a magazine at any point? Will the Redneck Preppy have to find out if a rifle can be thrown like a javelin? All those questions and more will be answered today.

I put that stock on mine and it’s fine, no issues with it

What kind of sight do you use? Cheek weld?

If you look at a regular A2 fixed stock you will see the difference in geometry. There is a reason that the comb remains relatively straight.

Unless you have a face like a giraffe, either the sight picture or cheek weld has to give when you have a drop comb shotgun stock with an AR style flat top receiver. There is a reason no other MSR uses this kind of stock.

The cheek weld using irons or co-witness sights must be more of a chin teeter at best. Not conducive to being comfortable, sturdy or repeatable.

Just use a traditional low mounted scope…

Clearly people were able to figure out how to comfortably and accurately shoot rifles before the A2 stock was introduced…

I take the point - low mounts, maybe a peep sight or a traditional buckhorn - I would just assume that a lot of people would want to use their Buis or whatever other AR optic/mount on this rifle considering its aesthetic.

Trying to see through an Eotech for example would be like the guy in this picture - looking through the scope with his forehead 😂
