I'll hold out for the Modern Sporter receiver sets, these are pretty much junk anyways ( yes I've shot one, same quality as the WK180 IMO

When Pollieve gets In at end of the month, Crusader Arms won't even exist, noone will care about these soda can quality receiver sets with all the other options that will once again be available.

The fact it was built to skirt the specific definition in C21 does not mean it can't be classed as an AR variant, which is what I suspect happened here.

FRT is not law, its a reference chart, the chart an officer will follow to get knowledge about classification as they have no prior training about it.
Seeing the chart, your property will be seized, you handcuffed and arrested, and charged with possession of a prohibited item. Then you go to court paying your lawyer fees in hopes that over the years your case has been going on, your seized property has not been destroyed yet after you hopefully win since FRT is not LAW, and the law clearly stated your rifle met everything to be NR, except for the OIC ban inclusion where it was stated your rifle was a AR variant. A good lawyer could argue it wasn't, but are you willing to test that yourself ?

The Firearms Lab makes the determination. Those people are Subject Matter Experts and expert witnesses. So yes a very uphill battle to get reversed.

Voting Conservative is the only way to ensure preserve firearm ownership in Canada. The Liberals have prohibited almost everything semi auto. Hunting rifles will be sniper rifles, lever actions will be on the block along with pump shotguns. The only firearm owners in Canada will be the rare FUD who voted Liberal or NDP. If the Liberals win, gun culture is done. Frankly so is Canada.

Anyone on here that seems happy to be reporting this frt is no friend to firearm ownership even if they pretend to be a gun owner.

Not that I care, I never bought the over-priced CanadianAR guns…

Yep. On the FRT it notes it is prohib as per PFR, part 1, para.87. This is the paragraph proscribing all AR's and variants as prohib in the Prohibited Firearms Regulations #SOR/98-462.

I thought the FRT isn’t law? Isn’t that how the ATRS skirted by for awhile?

It isn't, but a court will treat it as such.

Not that I've ever seen. It feels like the sort of thing that would become gunnie legend - like how a modified school locker is legally a safe - if it ever happened, and I would expect it to be referenced all the time by the "frt is not law" guys.

But... ive never heard of what makes the SME ... do they have gunsmith training? Engineering background?

Or just some half retired copper who was too dumb to be a traffic cop and too much liability to be a beat cop saw it as a way to get the promotion?

I can confirm that I have seen the same, including but not limited to AR10’s used for bear defense and big game - in many instances there may be a FN / Inuit exemption. Pretty sure the AK47 I saw had no exemption, but he was an elder and I didn’t have the heart to tell him.

As a cop, I’m a strict adherent to the law. That said, what I see doesn’t bother me unless an actual crime is being committed.

I’m not a as confident Pollivere will win, I’ve seldom been let down betting on the ignorance of Canadians. Especially those that live in built up urban areas 5,000 miles away.

What will happen to people that own cryptos then? You are a cop after all
